About the event
Womens+ Wild Camp is a beginner friendly, weekend hiking expedition in the beautiful Lake District with overnight wild camp.
With over 10 years experience leading expeditions worldwide, Fran brings a holistic approach to mountain leadership, technical expertise and a passion for fostering a deep appreciation for the mountains. Her aim is to create a safe and enriching experience that leaves you inspired, confident and invigorated.
With no experience necessary, this is an ideal introduction to multi-day hiking adventures and still valuable for those that have some experience but want to further build confidence or efficiency in expedition skills. Meet and connect with other wild enthusiasts in a safe and inclusive learning environment as we journey through the mountains together.
FRIDAY NIGHT-SUNDAY AFTERNOON. A full and fun weekend of covering essential backpacking and expedition skills.

Experience and Skill Level: Basic physical fitness is important for navigating mountainous terrain. A good level of cardiovascular fitness, strength, and endurance is recommended. Regardless of your fitness level, this experience will be guided with safety and encouragement.
Costs and Contributions: Womens Wild Camp will cost £240 pp. Subsidies can be made for group bookings! Please contact Fran directly for more information.
Equipment and Gear: What do I need? Please note - All the highlighted items are available to rent.
- 1 - 2 person tent
- 2 - 3 season sleeping bag
- 40 - 60 litre rucksack
- Camping Stove, gas, pot, lighter
- Dry bags
- Suitable walking shoes/boots
- Waterproof jacket & trousers
- Warm layers
- Spare t-shirt/pants/socks
- Food for 2x breakfasts, 2x lunches, 1x dinner
- High energy snacks
- Iodine tablets/chlorine tablets/water filter
- 1 - 2 litre waterbottle
- Your own rubbish bag
- Toilet paper, trowel
- Sun cream, bug spray
- Towel, swimming costume (optional)
