About the event
What is it?
Wild Camping trips are for those who want to try camping away from campsites within the safe hands of a guide, who can share advice and best practices whilst out on an expedition. Fran includes a 1:1 chat to discuss kit and answer any questions you may have prior to the trip, to ensure you feel totally comfortable and confident before we head out.
Fran will teach you how to respectfully pick appropriate camping spots to help build your confidence in exploring UK wild country alone. You'll also learn about leave-no-trace ethics, kit advice, legalities of wild camping in the UK, navigating off-path, basic weather-reading and more.
Experience a night in the Howgills, a designated dark sky area! These particular dates align with the Aquarids meteor shower - making it the perfect night for camping wild and watching some natural phenonmena.
The trip will be led by a qualified UK Mountain Leader, Fran. With years of wild camping experience, previous knowledge of the area, an up-to-date First Aid qualification and full liability insurance. She will provide an informative and enjoyable walk, whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
